   What does music mean to you?

   Have you ever even thought about it? Why you go to the shows? Why you listen to the music? Why you’re in a band? Why you joined any sort of music scene in general? Well, I always think about this. Why music means so much to me that is. I always wonder what drew other fans and my friends into the music, why musicians decided they wanted to be musicians for the rest of their lives. So I came up with the idea to go around to my friends, other fans, and musicians and ask them the simple question, “what does music mean to you?” Ok, it’s NOT a simple question to ask AT all, but you get my point. The response to me everytime I tell a new person my project is “wow, that’s a hard one” but eventually I get something out of them, and the answers 85% of the time are the most amazing things I have ever read.

   Why start a blog about this? Because I know everybody else is curious, everybody else wants to know what makes their favorite musicians keep doing this everyday minus grueling tour schedules and rumors started by fans and gossip sites all over the internet.

   Follow this blog. Keep posted on what’s going on. I have about 40 of these so far, probably more, and I will be posting a new one each day. I will keep you all posted with shows I’m going to and ask who you want to hear from most out of the bands, and what else you think I should try and do with this idea. I’m up for all suggestions. My e-mail is in the info, along with a myspace I use just for messaging and two of my other websites. So, let’s make this thing explode. Let’s make it so when I ask musicians if they want to participate they say to me “Oh, I heard about this on the internet and have wanted to participate for awhile.”

   Tell your friends to follow me. The more followers, the more you’ll get to see of my project, and the bigger this will get and the farther it will spread.

This is an on going music project that I started for a summer photography class project that I fell in love with and decided to continue on with. I ask musicians, fellow fans, and friends what music means to them. Everybody interprets the question in their own way and almost every answer varies in length, wording and meaning.

This blog will have the photos & answers posted on it, updates on the project along with ways for anybody to read this to help out. For example tell me who you want to hear from, and I will try my hardest to get them to participate. Give me feedback, good or bad. That's what this is here for.
